Overview

Coptic and Islamic tour in Cairo is a great tour where you can know more about religion and Christianity in Egypt. Meet your Egyptologist who will take you to an interesting tour. Start your tour to visit the old Cairo where you can see many churches, especially the Hanging Church, which was built above the Roman Tower, as well as the Abu Serga Church, where you can explore the crypt that the holy family stayed inside it for 3 months, and Saint George Church, a roman orthodox church. The second part of the day will be exploring Islamic Cairo, where you can visit the first mosque in Egypt Amr Abn El As mosque, as well as the best mosque for Mohamed Ali Pash, called Alabaster Mosque, which is similar to the Blue Mosque in Turkey. The Hanging Church is named for its location above a gatehouse of Babylon Fortress, the Roman fortress in Coptic Cairo (Old Cairo); its nave is suspended over a passage. The church is approached by twenty-nine steps; early travelers to Cairo dubbed it "the Staircase Church".

St. Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church
