What To Expect

The square is subject to frequent gatherings which can be volatile, and really should be avoided by foreigners during those times. In calmer moments the square shows the wear and tear of revolution but is pretty central to modern Egyptian political life. Just west of the roundabout is a street called El-Tahrir Street. It is covered in murals depicting the revolutionary feelings. Great artwork. Warm people. Depending on the political climate, worth taking a look.

Al-Hakim Mosque

The mosque is located at the beginning of al-Muizz li Din Allah Street, adjacent to the Fatimid northern wall of the Old City of Cairo in Egypt, only a few steps away from Bab al-Futuh (Gate of Conquest) and Bab al-Nasr (Gate of Victory). At the time of its construction, the mosque lay outside the brick-built walls encircling Fatimid Cairo, constructed by order of Jawhar al-Saqalli, the commander of the armies of the Fatimid caliph, al-Muizz li-Din Allah in AH 359 / AD 970. In AH 480 / AD 1087. Badr al-Din al-Jamali, minister of the Fatimid caliph al-Mustansir, undertook the expansion of the city on the northern and southern ends, for a distance of 150 m. He built the new walls out of stone and the north wall butted on to the northeastern wall of the mosque, Cairo, Egypt

Ahmed from Memphis tours was amazing, very welcoming and professional. Also our driver Bassam was amazing, he took care of us and also made us feel safe and welcome. We loved the experience of cairo tower, felucca ride, and walking through the awesome market. We had an excellent lunch at a local place too. We highly recommend it

Very interesting walk through old Cairo with stops at the largest mosque and other smaller ones. Interesting to walk through some old streets and finding out about the history and why buildings are positioned in a certain way. The old market street was vibrant but unfortunately a lot of the shops were closed due to it being Ramadan. Guide was very informative. The view from the Cairo tower shows just how big Cairo is. We had a wonderful lunch and finished with a faluca cruise on the Nile. Wonderful day and wonderful tour guide.

Primer día en El Cairo y excelente atención por parte de Rania, nuestra guía ese dia y en general, nuestra ejecutiva, ya que estuvo al pendiente de nosotros durante nuestra estadía en El Cairo, ya que nos apoyo con el registro en el hotel, check in en los aeropuertos locales. Muy amable y siempre dispuesta a contestar nuestras preguntas
Además del tour por la ciudad, nos llevó a conocer las entrañas de El Cairo, conociendo un lugar tipico del viejo Cairo, mostrándonos diversos detalles de la vida cotidiana

A equipe deles é simplesmente excelente… Em todos os aspectos. Nossos guias, Abdel no Cairo e em Alexandria. e Lili em Luxor, além de conseguirem falar um português perfeito, mostravam um conhecimento muito profundo da cultura egípcia, e dos lugares que visitamos.

A equipe responsável pela organização, Hisham e Mahmoud, foram simplesmente fantásticos em todos os aspectos, nos deixando completamente a vontade para simplesmente aproveitar os momentos enquanto eles ajustavam todos os mínimos detalhes para garantir a nossa tranquilidade.

Os motoristas foram todos excelentes, com muito cuidado no lidar conosco, por mais que fosse uma função mais específica dos guias… Não nos deixavam sem água em momento algum.
