What To Expect
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities
The architect of the building was selected through an international competition in 1895, which was the first of its kind, and was won by the French architect, Marcel Dourgnon. The museum was inaugurated in 1902 by Khedive Abbas Helmy II, and has become a historic landmark in downtown Cairo, and home to some of the world’s most magnificent ancient masterpieces.

Reviews
We saw everything from arrow heads from millions of years ago to ancient building tools to modern day art.
He then left us for 30 minutes to go through the royal mummies area of the museum which was pretty interesting and a little gory.
We then headed to an open top boat for lunch which was very nice. BBQ kebabs and chicken with bread and dips.
Then we headed to the market where he guided us around the safer parts and actively engaged with vendors to drive down prices by promising them he would bring more tourists if they give decent prices.
Once we had bought all the perfume we could ever use we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the Nile dinner cruise. But that's a different review.
All in all a very organised day. We felt relaxed, informed and safe throughout. I would book again.
