What To Expect

Coptic Cairo
Egypt Gift Tours Egyptology guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza on time. Drive to Old Cairo that is also known as Christian Coptic Cairo which is among the most important locations visited by the Holy Family; where the spiritual impact of their presence is still felt. You will see and enter the Church of Abu Sergah (St. Sergious), the whole area of the Fort of Babylon, a destination of pilgrimage not only for the Egyptians but for Christians from around the world. Also there you will have a chance to visit the hanging church, St. Barbara and the old Jewish synagogue, Ben Ezra Synagogue.

Islamic Cairo
Then we continue our day tour to Islamic Cairo that was founded in 641 A.D by the First Muslim leader Amr Ibn Elas. Over there in Islamic Cairo you will be able to visit and enter some of the mosques such as ;`Masjid`Amr Ibn Elas Mosque, followed by a visit to Ibn Tulun Mosque which was completed in 879 AD. This mosque that he had been built over a period of three years of mud-brick became the focal point of the Tulunid capital that lasted only 26 years.

Mosque and Madrasa of Sultan Hassan
Proceed to the most and biggest mosques in Cairo which is El Sultan Hassan Mosque and another big famous Mosque which is the Al-Rifa’i Mosque. The building is located opposite the Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan, which dates from around 1361, and was architecturally conceived as a complement to the older structure. The mosque was constructed next to two large public squares and off of several European style.

Cairo Citadel
Continue towards the Citadel of Salah El Din, built on famous hill Al Moqattam in Cairo, that was constructed for military purposes, for protecting Cairo from incoming threats. Since then, it became a residence of the king of Egypt for many centuries. On this tour, you will visit the beautiful Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque. Political event called "Massacre of the Citadel" happened in the Citadel in 1811, where Mohamed Ali, the ruler of Egypt (1805-1849) murdered Mameluke leaders in Qaser El Gawhara palace, and it's not currently opened for visits.
Finally you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
