My friend and I have been traveling the world and finally arrived in Cairo to realize we forgot to book a tour! We hopped on Trip Advisor and learned of reasonably priced private guided tours of the places we really wanted to visit, pyramids being at the top of the list.

Our guide Bassem exceeded our expectations. He was never late and never left us with a dull moment. His vast knowledge of Egyptian history for both the places we visited and any random questions we had was impressive. We never stopped laughing and have made a friend for life.

Entering Kufu’s pyramid tomb was an experience I will never forget, the museum was breathtaking and the provided lunches were delicious. The bazaar truly was a highlight I will never forget situated in Old Cairo spotted with 1000 year old Mosques.

If we find ourselves back in Egypt we will request Bassem for a trip to Alexandria and beyond!
