Great Sphinx
The sphinx as a word is not exclusive to the ancient Egyptians with similar-looking creatures with the winged body of a lion and the head of the human common in the Greek mythology. The current name of the Sphinx was given to it by the law of classical antiquity and after nearly 2000 years after its agreed-upon date of construction. The name is a reference to a creature in the Greek mythology. Another well-known name is the Arabic word “abu al hawl“ meaning “The terrifying one”.
The sphinx stands at a towering height of 20 meters. The structure is believed to have been built in the old kingdom era during the reign of the pharaoh Khafre. The sphinx is carved of limestone.
Also visit the temple of the valley, part of a funerary complex including a mortuary Temple adjoining the Pyramid on the east side and a covered causeway leading to the valley Temple. The purpose of these valley Temples has been the subject of debate as they could have been used for the mummification process.

It has 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display and the remainder in storerooms. the museum Built in 1901 . Much of the work of decades of arduous toil by Egyptologists from all over the world has ended up here This is an extraordinary attraction.

Khan Al-Khalili
The Khan Al-Khalili bazaar is full of all kinds of goods, like antique shops full of interesting pieces & the famous Pharaonic clothes.
There is a spice market where you can buy fresh spices of any variety. Even if you are not looking to buy, taking a walk through the winding alleys of this labyrinthine district, you are sure to find something that will catch your eye.
The market dates back to the 14th century when Emir Dajaharks Al-Khalili built a large market complex on the site of the Za’afran Tomb, which had been the burial place of the Fatimid rulers of Egypt. This construction was part of the process of rebuilding started under Sultan Barquq (ruled 1382-1399) to help the city recover from the ravages of the Black Death throughout the 13th and 14th centuries.

Via Tours gave us a star Tour Guide! We have traveled 5 out of 7 continents but our Tour Guide in Cairo was beyond anyone else we have encountered. Yes, she is an Egyptologist with all that entails and yes her English is superb. But, Manar made us feel like we were in a dialogue with her all along the way. She did not just talk at us with facts, dates and the usual, she was truly interested in our questions and took the time to ask us clarifying questions. Please search for Manar Atwa!!!
My Trip of a Lifetime!

I loved all of it! I had wanted to visit the Pyramids all my life and it was great! Loved the camel ride, too. The Egyptian Museum was amazing. I left there wiser in Egyptian culture and history. So many things I had seen many times in media were there in front of me. I had seen the King Tut exhibit when it came to the States, but was surprised at how much more of an impact it had on me to see it in Egypt. The Khan Bazaar was an incredible shopping adventure. I have beautiful additions to my life and my home decor courtesy my shopping trip there. Thank you Mo for making my trip to Egypt so wonderful and memorable!
