From Cairo you can have a 3 hour ride with intervals to visit Egypt's second largest city Alexandria, locally called the Bride of the Mediterranean according to its strategic location on the Mediterranean Seashore. Have a 3-hour drive through the decent desert road that is very well cared after. After about 1.5 hours you will an interval to stretch legs, get a drink, or freshen up. Then continue the drive for another 1.5 hours to enjoy an amazing day trip to Alexandria. First visit the rock-cut Roman catacombs, which are the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock
