Overview

On this tour, you will visit the Fayoum Oasis, one of ancient Egypt’s agricultural centers and regional capitals. It was here that the peasants were commanded by Pharaoh Amenemhat III to dig and flood canals that would create a great reservoir lake. You will be greeted by lush agricultural fields and learn about the rural life of the peasants, who still carry some of the tradition from ancient times, such as pottery and embroidery. In the afternoon, you will get to spend your time relaxing by the lake and feasting on traditional Egyptian food.

Karanis located in what is now Kom Oshim, was an agricultural town in the Ptolemaic Kingdom, located in the northeast corner of the Faiyum.
"It was one of a number of towns established in the Arsinoite nome under Ptolemy II Philadelphus as part of a scheme to settle Greek mercenaries among the Egyptians and to exploit the potential fertile Fayum basin".

Tunis is a village in the oasis of Faiyum Governorate in Egypt known for its pottery workshops and small art galleries.
The village was created[clarification needed] by two famous Egyptian poet in the 1960s. Evelyne Porret, a potter from Switzerland, established a pottery school in the village in the 1960s which played a large role in creating the village's pottery culture. The pottery school still exists today.
