Great Morning at The Citadel and Souq

My adult children and I had a great morning exploring the Citadel with Ehab, our guide, and Ahmed, our driver! They picked us up in Tahrir Square, and drove to The Citadel. It was a long hike up the hill, but the mosque, castle and view were great. Ehab took lots of pictures, and answered all our questions. He gave us plenty of time to explore after explaining theimportance of what we were touring. Then we went to the KeK Market. Many shops were closed because of the holiday, but Ehab told us about a lot of history and architecture of the market area. We got some great souvenirs, and enjoyed our time immensely.

I cannot explain how stunning the Mosques and Churches are in Cairo, you absolutely have to visit them when in town. Mina Medhat took amazing care of us during this tour and created a great environment during all our visits. He is passionate about his city and it shows. I can highly recommend him. The traffic in Cairo is not for the fair of hearts and its extremely difficult to find lights and cross walks, so you really want to visit the center through a tour.
This was such a beautiful and informative tour

This was such a beautiful and informative tour. Ibrahim rashad really made sure we were fed, hydrated and entertained. We learned so much about Islamic culture, he took great pics of us and then took us to a super nice restaurant for lunch (see picture).10/10 recommend!!
