Note that the ride is not on the pyramid site, but outside/around it when you book.
We wanted our camel ride to be on the pyramid site, so the tour operator modified it for us (we paid for our pyramid site entries and did the camel ride there!)
It was definitely worth it to see the pyramids up close.
The camels we had appeared well treated, well fed and had been resting before our tour. They were given some space to rest and eat after the tour as well.
